01 / CHILD PROTECTION

Protecting childhood. Strengthening awareness.

Vicinity Foundation actively campaigns against child abuse to raise awareness and protect young lives. Child abuse includes physical mistreatment, emotional harm, sexual exploitation, and systemic neglect. To combat these issues, we educate communities about the various forms of abuse and how to prevent them. Supported by a dedicated team of doctors, subject experts, and professionals, we work directly with various groups to safeguard children. Together, we aim to build a safer, more nurturing environment where every child can grow with dignity.

Menstrual health and hygiene education
06 / MENSTRUAL AWARENESS

Making space for informed conversations.

Vicinity Foundation is actively breaking societal taboos around menstruation by driving essential hygiene awareness in rural communities. We inform families about vital government initiatives and empower adolescent girls aged 10–19 with accurate knowledge and personal hygiene practices. Our work focuses on distributing high-quality sanitary napkins, promoting eco-friendly disposal methods, and answering sensitive questions through engaging workshops. By replacing misconception with education, we boost young girls' confidence, health, and dignity.

07 / ENVIRONMENT & RELIEF

Caring for our surroundings. Supporting one another.

Environmental awareness and development programmes encourage communities to care for their surroundings. Related activity areas include tree plantation, environmental education and promotion of herbal gardens and awareness of herbal medicines.

Disaster relief and rehabilitation are also included among the Foundation's stated areas of activity.

A foundation
rooted in action.

Vicinity Foundation was established in 2017. Its documented work has included education awareness, environmental activity, career guidance and programmes aimed at strengthening community opportunity.

ENVIRONMENT • 2017

Connecting people with trees.

Vicinity Foundation participated in the Van Mahotsav tree plantation campaign held from 1 to 7 July 2017.

The Foundation team planned tree plantation near the bank of the Agra Canal close to Badarpur Thermal Power Station.

The beginning of Vicinity Foundation

The Foundation's inaugural programme was organised on 2 October 2017 at Bhim Complex, near Dheer Garden, Jaitpur-Ismailpur Road, Badarpur, New Delhi.

Van Mahotsav & tree plantation

The Foundation participated in a tree plantation campaign organised during Van Mahotsav, with the theme "connecting people with tree."

Education awareness in rural areas

On 6 December 2017, an Education Awareness Programme was organised at Udesar Rudra Singh, District Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Educational stationery, pens, drawing books, water bottles and geometry boxes were distributed during the programme.

Supporting competitive exam preparation

The Foundation organised a seminar focused on preparation for UPSC and state examinations, bringing students together for guidance on strategy and preparation.

Learning beyond the classroom

A programme on understanding Goods and Services Tax was organised at Bhim Complex in January 2018, with students participating in the session.

Career counselling

In September 2018, Vicinity Foundation organised a career counselling programme focused on helping students understand different career options, universities and courses.
